West Brom could lose the influential Harvey Barnes this month, with Leicester City boss Claude Puel expected to recall him from his loan.

The youngster arrived at The Hawthorns in the summer and has made a huge impact, contributing with nine goals and six assists, making him one of the most productive players in the Championship.

Therefore, he has been a regular for Darren Moore's side and he has constantly impressed with his pace and drive from the flanks.

However, that has clearly impressed those at his parent club, with BBC journalist Ian Stringer revealing that Puel indicated he will be bringing him back.

The Foxes boss was speaking after his side had beaten Everton in the early Premier League game of the day.

Despite that, Barnes was involved for Albion as they took on Blackburn Rovers today, with the 21-year-old starting what could be his last game for the club.

If he does depart, he will be leaving Albion firmly in the race for promotion but his absence will be a massive loss to Moore as they look to make an instant return to the Premier League.

The Verdict

This is the news that many Albion fans were fearing this January and they will be hoping Puel doesn't go through with it.

Not only does Barnes contribute with goals and assists but he is a major attacking threat with his speed and skill and he will be so hard to replace.

But, this is the risk with loan deals and Albion knew this could happen when they brought him in during the summer.
