West Bromwich Albion have considered a move for Nahki Wells this summer as they look to bolster their squad ahead of their return to the Sky Bet Championship.

Darren Moore is preparing for his first full year of management at the Hawthorns, and is working on deals to strengthen West Brom’s options going forward.

According to the Daily Mail, Bobby Reid is one man on West Brom’s radar, but the Baggies have also cast an eye over Wells.

The Burnley striker has struggled for opportunities at Turf Moor since his move their last summer, with the 28-year-old managing just 46 minutes of Premier League football last season in nine substitute appearances.

Burnley swooped to sign Wells last summer from Huddersfield Town, where Wells played a major role in helping the club reach the Premier League.

During the 2016/17 campaign, Wells scored 10 goals in 46 appearances, helping David Wagner’s side to promotion via the play-offs.

Wells cost Burnley £5m last summer, with the striker agreeing a three-year deal with Sean Dyche’s side.

The Verdict

Burnley hasn’t been a good move for Wells, with the striker really struggling to earn an opportunity in the Premier League.

A move back to the Championship could be good for the player, whilst if West Brom sign him, they’ll be getting their hands on a good striker.

In the Championship, Wells could be very useful at the Hawthorns.
