West Bromwich Albion midfielder Sam Field has signed a new long-term contract, the club's official website has confirmed.

Field puts pen to paper on a new four-year deal at The Hawthorns, committing his future to West Brom until the summer of 2022.

The academy product is a boyhood West Brom fan and he extends his stay with the West Midlands club.

The 20-year-old central midfielder has played 22 games for the first-team, scoring one goal, and he is tipped for a big future with West Brom.

The England under-21 international is expected to be handed more opportunities under Darren Moore now that the Baggies have been relegated to the Championship.

The Verdict

Field has tremendous potential and he is going to be an important player for West Brom next season.

His ability on the ball is impressive given his age and with a handful of Premier League appearances already under his belt, he is well prepared to play a starring role in their promotion push next term.

After the recent revelations about Craig Dawson, Ben Foster and James McClean all unprofessionally skipping training to force through moves, it is refreshing to have a player in the squad who cares so much about West Brom.
