West Brom have revealed that defensive pair Caleb Taylor and Zac Ashworth have signed new deals to remain at The Hawthorns until the summer of 2025.

The duo are highly-rated by Albion having come through the ranks and they were on the fringes of the first-team last season, which included making a handful of appearances.

There is a hope that the two 19-year-olds will be able to force their way into the team in the years to come and they have both been rewarded for the progress that they have made in the past 12 months.

That's after the Baggies announced this afternoon that Taylor and Ashworth have agreed contracts for another three years.

Both are currently with Steve Bruce and the rest of the first-team squad in Portugal as they prepare for the new season, which begins for Albion against Middlesbrough on July 30.

Left-back Ashworth has made a good impression in the training camp, having scored with a fine effort as West Brom beat Leyton Orient 2-1 in their first game on Monday evening.

The verdict

This is good news for West Brom as both Taylor and Ashworth have impressed for the development sides over the years and are now part of the first-team squad.

Of course, there is a lot of work for them to do before they get in the XI but the signs are positive and this contract news shows key figures at the club are pleased with their progress.

Now, it's down to the teenagers to continue to progress and they will hope to impress Bruce over the coming weeks in pre-season.
