West Brom are set to appoint Graeme Jones as assistant manager to Darren Moore after successful talks with the coach in recent days.

That's the latest according to the Express & Star, with Jones' arrival set to be a big boost for Moore ahead of the Championship season.

The new Albion boss revealed last month that he was prepared to be patient as he looked to add to his backroom staff and he appears to have landed his main target, with the report adding an announcement is to be expected this week.

It would be a coup for the West Midlands side as Jones has built a great reputation in the game, having spent the past ten years with Roberto Martinez.

The 48-year old was with the Spanish manager as they took Swansea up the leagues, before moving on to Wigan, Everton and then at the World Cup in Russia with Belgium.

Jones also knows Moore from their time as players together at Doncaster Rovers in the late 90s.

The Verdict

This would be a big move for West Brom and great for Moore that the club have delivered on the assistant he wants.

Jones has proven himself to be a top coach over the years and has very good experience in the game.

Therefore, he will be able to add a lot to the Albion backroom team which should benefit the players as they look to bounce back to the top-flight.
