West Bromwich Albion winger Oliver Burke is a considering a move abroad, with a host of German sides believed to be interested in the 22-year-old, according to reports from the Daily Mail.

The Scotland international is no stranger to the Bundesliga, having completed a reported £13m move to Red Bull Leipzig from Nottingham Forest in 2016.

The 22-year-old's career has gone massively downhill since his move to Leipzig, though. He made just five league starts and a total of 26 appearances for the German side, finding the back of the net just once.

He then made an even bigger move to West Bromwich Albion in 2017, arriving at The Hawthorns for a reported fee of £15m, but he has since made just two league starts for the Baggies.

Burke was surplus to requirements under Darren Moore last season, and was subsequently sent out on loan to SPFL champions Celtic where he scored four goals in 14 league games for the club.

The winger, who has featured in Albion's first three games of the 19/20 campaign, made his first start for Albion in almost a year in the Carabao Cup on Tuesday night, but after failing to impress Slaven Bilic, he could now be set for another departure.

It is claimed by the Daily Mail that a host of Bundesliga sides are after the Scot, with European sides still able to sign players until the end of the month.

Burke still has three years left on his contract after signing a five-year deal back in 2017, but is said to be considering a move abroad as he searches for regular game-time.

The Verdict

It's sad to see a player of Burke's quality decline, but he just hasn't made his opportunities count when given a chance to impress at The Hawthorns.

He really impressed me on loan with Celtic last term, and I thought that a permanent move to Neil Lennon's side could have been beneficial for him as he looks to regain his form.

West Brom should definitely hold out for a decent fee for him, though, especially with another three years left on his deal anyway.
