West Brom and Fulham are locked in a transfer tussle with a number of clubs to the potential signing of FC Lorient midfielder Yoane Wissa according to Telefoot

The report claims that the likes of Watford and Southampton are interested in signing Wissa, as well as FC Augsburg and Mainz also being reportedly interested in the midfielder.

Wissa has been in impressive form this season for FC Lorient as well, and has scored 16 goals in 30 appearances for them in the second tier of French football.

A move to West Brom could be a tempting proposition for Wissa as well, with Slaven Bilic's side currently sat second in the Championship table.

Fulham are also well in contention to challenge for promotion back into the Premier League this season, with the Cottagers currently sat third in the second tier standings.

However, those promotion bids have been put on hold for the time being, with recent off-the-field events calling a halt to fixtures across the globe.

No scheduled return date has been put in place yet for English football, although the French season has been ended early by the relevant authorities.

The Verdict:

He could be worth the punt in the summer.

Wissa has shown that he knows where the back of the net is this season, and I'm not surprised to hear that there are plenty of teams registering their interest in landing his signature.

However, he doesn't have any experience in English football, which makes it a risky signing for the likes of Fulham and West Brom, who can't afford to waste time with players who potentially struggle to adjust to the demands of football in the top-two tiers.

Wissa would be a gamble, but if he hit the ground running, it could prove to be a shrewd bit of business.
