Bournemouth boss Eddie Howe has refused to rule out the possibility of sending Tyrone Mings on loan this window, with the defender reportedly attracting interest from West Brom and Aston Villa.

The Daily Mail revealed earlier in the week that the two Championship rivals were keen on the 25-year-old and comments from Howe will have given them further encouragement.

"His desire to play and the fact he has had major injuries and hasn’t had a lot of football – we will wait and see on what’s best for Tyrone and for us," he told the Bournemouth Daily Echo.

The former Ipswich Town man, who has suffered terribly with injuries over the years, has managed just five Premier League appearances in this campaign. And, only one of them saw him play the full 90 minutes.

Therefore, the chance to play regularly elsewhere may appeal to the versatile defender, with Villa and Albion both looking for reinforcements.

It is believed that Howe could sanction a loan for Mings once the Cherries have completed the signing of Brentford's Chris Mepham who is thought to be close to joining.

The Verdict

Mings is a very good player at Championship level and he would beef up both Villa and the Baggies defensively.

The obvious concern is his injury record and he has struggled for minutes again this season for a variety of reasons.

However, he is fit and available now so a loan move does look as though it would suit all parties.
