Nathan Ferguson is "hell bent" on leaving West Bromwich Albion in the summer amid interest from Premier League side Crystal Palace.

The 19-year-old has been a key player for Slaven Bilic's side this season, making a total of 21 appearances in all competitions in the Baggies' bid for promotion from the Championship.

But the young full-back faces an uncertain future at the Hawthorns, with his current deal set to run out at the end of the season, and there has been no movement on the contract they offered him back in October.

Ferguson was close to moving to Palace in January, but a move to Selhurst Park broke down to a knee injury and an issue in his medical in the latter stages of the transfer window.

Ferguson is yet to make an appearance for Albion since his failed move to Palace, and his future in the West Midlands beyond this season looks uncertain.

According to Football Insider, Ferguson is "hell bent" on a move away this summer, and the report claims that relations between the club and the player have completely broken down as a result.

The player's representatives have reportedly made it clear that Ferguson will not sign a new deal, and it remains to be seen whether he plays a part in the Baggies' push for promotion towards the end of this season.

West Brom moved six points clear at the top of the Championship table on Wednesday night, after defeating Reading by two goals to one at the Madejski Stadium.

The Verdict

I think Ferguson's future at West Brom is dead in the water now to be quite honest.

Even if he does recover from a knee injury, will Slaven Bilic trust him enough to play him towards the end of the season when games become more and more important.

It's a shame how everything has turned out, but maybe this will teach Albion a lesson in the future, to tie their younger players down to long-term deals much earlier.
