Wes Foderingham was a core part of Sheffield United's squad last season, making 32 appearances and keeping 18 clean sheets.

The Blades will have been disappointed not to have gone up the season after putting up a good fight against Nottingham Forest in the play-off semi-finals.

However, United will be looking to go one better next season and push for promotion up to the Premier League.

There is bound to be a lot of pressure on the squad to get towards the top of the table but Foderingham feels as though his previous experience playing with Rangers for five seasons before coming to Bramall Lane will help him, as he told The Star: "I enjoy it, the environment of playing at Bramall Lane.

"I came here from a big club which I enjoyed playing at, and this is natter big club where your standards and performances have to be high.

"A lot of the time when you're under a lot of pressure, that can alter performances sometimes. But you get players that thrive on it and players that can go under.

"I'd like to think of myself as one of those players who enjoy playing under pressure. You understand it's part of football and the game. And the best players are comfortable in uncomfortable situations."

The Verdict:

At a ground like Bramall Lane with a big crowd, there is bound to be pressure upon the players every week especially when they are a side who are expected to be pushing up towards the play-offs.

However, Foderingham has so far shown signs that he can deal with the pressure of these situations well and fans will be hoping he can go on to do the same next season.

The goalkeeper proved to be a big part of the team this season and will be looking to step up again next season to take his team to promotion to the top flight.
