It has been a turbulent 18 months for all involved at Hull City, with the Tigers seemingly in turmoil and facing the possibility of back-to-back relegations after a tricky start to their Sky Bet Championship return.

Hull currently sit 20th in the Championship table, just three points above the bottom-three, but having won just four games so far this season, are running a risk of becoming sucked into a relegation fight.

Last night, Hull parted company with Leonid Slutsky, after the Russian boss had endured a testing start to life in the English football and the Championship with the Tigers.

Hull are now looking for Slutsky’s replacement, with journalists at BBC Radio Humberside indicating that Nigel Adkins, formerly of Scunthorpe United, Southampton and Sheffield United, is amongst the frontrunners for the vacancy.

Adkins’ last job came at Bramall Lane during the 2015/16 campaign.
