It has been a turbulent 18 months for all involved at Hull City, with the Tigers seemingly in turmoil and facing the possibility of back-to-back relegations after a tricky start to their Sky Bet Championship return.
Hull currently sit 20th in the Championship table, just three points above the bottom-three, but having won just four games so far this season, are running a risk of becoming sucked into a relegation fight.
Last night, Hull parted company with Leonid Slutsky, after the Russian boss had endured a testing start to life in the English football and the Championship with the Tigers.
Hull are now looking for Slutsky’s replacement, with journalists at BBC Radio Humberside indicating that Nigel Adkins, formerly of Scunthorpe United, Southampton and Sheffield United, is amongst the frontrunners for the vacancy.

Just been told Nigel Adkins watched #hcafc at Millwall last week, four days on from attending the Ipswich match.
Still nobody is available for comment.#Slutsky

Adkins’ last job came at Bramall Lane during the 2015/16 campaign.
Following the news linking the 52-year-old with the vacancy at Hull, here is how the club’s supporters reacted…
Not a bad appointment stability will come now. Hes used to working with naff all too.

Did a brilliant job at Scunthorpe and Southampton, if he gets it would like to wish him well #grabanoar

I don't think anything can be taken as a given. Ehab proven time and time again that he doesn't follow the normal management circuit. Adkins might be too obvious

Don't want him, league 1 at best. Rather have Phil Brown back, we're imploding down the leagues
— Jason Stevens-Read (@JasonRead9) December 3, 2017
Please not Appleton. The only way a club wants him is because he’s cheap and will take any job going with any disruptive owners #hcafc

Hoping for the best for Hull right now

Think quite a few will fancy it but will be Adkins
