Barnsley, like Sunderland, are hunting an immediate return to the Championship and are in a good position to do just that.

Last season all three of the relegated clubs were promoted, heightening the gap between the two divisions and the early indications are that two of the three relegated sides will be in the hunt again.

Burton Albion, maybe not so much.

Barnsley have had to make changes though, not with the playing staff but off the field. Daniel Stendel has arrived with little experience of the division, but appears to have the right credentials to ensure they're a success.

His pressing style has already seen some impressive results and as the season unfolds his side will be in and around the promotion chase.

Not everyone will be along for the ride though, as one of last season's flops looks for an escape and maybe a young player gets some minutes elsewhere.

Here are three players FLW think will leave Oakwell on loan in January....

Isgrove is a relatively big name, but his limited involvement points to a possible exit in the transfer window.

He's 25-year sold and spent five years in the top flight with Southampton, albeit only making eight appearances in all competitions.

Now he's struggling to get a kick at Barnsley, but surely would benefit a lower to mid table League One side.

The former Derby trainee is still only 20, but hasn't been involved as much as he might like.

He's no stranger to a loan move either having spent time with Yeovil last season and a League Two switch would give him the experience he needs to at least stake a claim for a place on the bench.

Right back Williams is another who needs regular football if he's going to develop and another who has been out on loan before.

He was in League One with Bury last season, but has just three Tykes appearances to his name, only one of which is a start this season.
