It is a new era at Aston Villa Football Club as Dean Smith prepares to host his first game in charge of the West Midlands club against Swansea City on Saturday afternoon.

The Villans have won just one of their last ten league games, so the former Brentford boss will be looking to turn the tide around at Villa Park and form a promotion push towards the second half of the campaign.

With the squad Villa have on paper, Smith will be licking his lips, especially with his philosophy of fast, attacking football, and Villa fans will be extremely excited at this thought.

On the contrary though, there are bound to be some players left out in the cold, as is the norm when a new manager comes in with new plans and ideas.

With that being said, here, we take a look at two players that we are convinced will leave the club on loan in January...

O'Hare is yet to play for Aston Villa this term having made eight appearances for the first team last term in league and cup competitions.

With the arrival of John McGinn in the centre of the park and the club’s ability to retain Jack Grealish, first-team opportunities have not been afforded to the 20-year old midfielder, who has been influential for the club's under-23s.

He will be as frustrated as anyone that he has not made an appearance this term and will undoubtedly be looking for a loan move away to get some game-time.

Hepburn-Murphy is another player who has seen his first-team opportunities cut short this term after the arrivals of the likes of Yannick Bolasie and Tammy Abraham.

The 20-year old has not played since the 4-1 September defeat at Sheffield United, despite making seven appearances this term.

And with the form of Kodjia and Abraham up top, as well as Scott Hogan who is likely to be given another chance under former Brentford boss Smith, a loan move would be beneficial.
