West Brom midfielder Romaine Sawyers has shared a passionate message with supporters following his red-card dismissal during the 3-0 victory over Bristol City on Saturday afternoon.

The Baggies gave their automatic-promotion hopes a major boost with their comfortable success at Ashton Gate, with Hal Robson-Kanu scoring a brace and Callum Robinson also on target to help West Brom move nine points clear of third place.

Slaven Bilic's men needed to negotiate the last 13 minutes of normal time with 10 men following Sawyers' dismissal for grabbing City's Jamie Paterson by the throat, with the midfielder then storming off the pitch after being showing the card by the referee.

Sawyers has now taken to Twitter to share an extended message following his actions, with the midfielder responded to some of the criticism he has received, while also thanking supporters for sending him positive messages after the incident.
