Leeds United are keen on signing Matej Vydra from Derby County, according to the print edition of The Sun on Sunday.

Derby forward Vydra - who plays in the number 10 role - topped the goal scoring charts in the Championship last season, firing 21 league goals to send his team to the play-offs.

But Leeds, who are desperately searching for a new manager, could now swoop to poach the Czech Republic international from the Rams.

The report indicates that the Whites might have to pay as much as £10m for the 26-year-old, who has previously had spells with Watford, West Brom and Reading in England.

Although Leeds are yet to appoint a manager or make any signings, the speculation alone has been enough to excite fans on social media.

Many supporters took to Twitter to share their views on the Vydra links with some seeing him as a good alternative to Abel Hernandez and others believing they can capture both.
