Wolverhampton Wanderers are set to confirm their first signing of the summer by bringing in Benik Afobe on a permanent deal, according to Sky Sports News.

Sky sources understand that Wolves will take up their option in Afobe's loan deal to sign him permanently for a price of £12.5m.

Afobe returned to Wolves in the January transfer window on a loan deal until the end of the season and he helped his side win promotion to the Premier League and lift the Championship trophy.

The DR Congo international netted six goals in 16 matches for Wolves, having previously scored 23 goals in 48 matches for the West Midlands outfit in his last spell.

But Bournemouth do not want to keep the 25-year-old and are ready to sell him this summer.

Wolves fans took to Twitter to discuss the permanent return of the former Arsenal academy product, who has enjoyed the best spells of his career at Molineux, and here are the best tweets in response to this news.
