Dean Smith's Aston Villa side currently sit in tenth place in the Championship and nine points off the pace in the race for a top-six spot in what has been a thoroughly disappointing season.

But according to one of their former recruits, Yannick Bolasie, the club still possesses the second tier's best player in the form of Jack Grealish.

The Congolese winger, who signed for Villa on a season-long loan deal back in the summer, was replying to a Soccer AM tweet when he gave his verdict.

Grealish, who signed a new long-term deal with his boyhood club back in the summer, has spent much of the current campaign on the sidelines, missing the last 12 matches with a shinbone injury, but has impressed when playing under Smith.

Bolasie's spell with the club was a disappointment in the end after arriving from Everton on loan in the summer, scoring just twice in 22 matches before cancelling the deal in January.

He was not a particularly popular figure during his time with the club, but this seems to have helped his standing with the fans...
