Plenty of Coventry City fans have taken to social media to react to a message from defender Declan Drysdale after he made his first-team debut for the Sky Blues last night.

The 19-year-old made his senior debut for Coventry on Tuesday evening in the 3-2 win over Southampton Under-21s in the EFL Trophy.

The teenager, who has impressed for Coventry's under-23 side so far this season, played the entire match at centre-back and impressed with both his defending and his composure on the ball.

Coventry won the game 3-2 thanks to a sensational second-half hat-trick from striker Max Biamou, who scored the winner in the fourth minute of injury time to move the Sky Blues top of Group D.

After the match, Drysdale took to social media to reflect on the game and posted a message to Coventry fans on Twitter, admitting that he was delighted to have made his debut.
