QPR attacking midfielder Ebere Eze has been called up to the England under-21s squad for the first time and many Hoops fans have been quick to congratulate him.

Eze has made an impressive start to the season at Loftus Road and has been an important part of Mark Warburton’s side, starting every Championship game so far and contributing two goals and one assist.

His performances appear to have caught the attention of Aidy Bothroyd, who has called him up to the squad for the UEFA European U21 Championships qualifiers against Turkey and Kosovo over the international break.

The 21-year-old has previously featured for the England under-20s side, making seven appearances at that level.

Eze receives the call up alongside on-loan West Bromwich Albion winger Grady Diangana after Dwight McNeil and Joe Willock withdrew from the squad due to injury.

The midfielder broke through at QPR in the second half of the 2017/18 campaign after impressing on loan at Wycombe Wanderers.

Last season the 21-year-old featured regularly for the Hoops, scoring four times and providing four assists in 42 appearances in the Championship.
