Sunderland have recently moved to bolster their youth options by signing free agent Jack Bainbridge.

The 20-year-old joins Sunderland after leaving Swansea City following just one season in South Wales.

During his time with the Swans, he failed to make his senior debut but did feature for the under-23 side, including in the Checkatrade Trophy against League One and League Two opposition.

The former Everton defender now joins Sunderland, although he is expected to slot into the under-23 side rather than move straight into the first-team.

Bainbridge plays as a centre-half and he will be hoping to impress under-23 boss Elliott Dickman ahead of the new season.

After joining Sunderland, the young defender took to Twitter to share his delight at the move, saying: "Made up to sign for Sunderland, can't wait for the season to start now!"

Here is how some Sunderland fans welcomed him on social media.
