Bristol City
‘Welcome to the fan club’ – Many Bristol City fans react to message from key player following Cardiff win

A number of Bristol City supporters have been reacting to a message from Bristol City forward Andreas Weimann on social media after the Robins’ 1-0 win at Cardiff City on Friday.
Weimann is facing a lengthy spell of around nine months on the side-lines after he suffered an anterior cruciate ligament during the Robins’ 1-1 draw against Swansea City. That is set to require surgery and Bristol City are thought to be assessing their options over how to replace the forward’s presence, per Bristol Live.
The 14-cap Austria international was watching Bristol City’s meeting with rivals Cardiff on Friday alongside the rest of the Robins faithful. The 29-year-old would have been hoping that Dean Holden’s side could secure a second successive win, after ending a five-game winless run against Huddersfield Town.
Bristol City did manage to secure a 1-0 win against Cardiff in Weimann’s absence, with Chris Martin having scored the only goal of the contest inside the second minute of the game. Holden’s side then produced a resilient defensive display to repel any attempts by Cardiff to get back into the match.

Following the win, Weimann took to his personal Twitter account to react to the performance and suggested that he is going to find the watching brief challenging during the rest of the Championship campaign following the nervy victory against Cardiff.
