The BBC are reporting that Derby County boss Gary Rowett is interested in a deal for out-of-contract midfielder Joe Ledley, and will sit down with the player in the next few days to thrash out terms.

The Welsh international has been without a club since his release from Crystal Palace in June, but may have found himself a new home in the East Midlands at Pride Park.

The former Cardiff, Celtic, and Palace man is an extremely experienced player with over 500 appearances to his name, including over 70 for the Welsh national side.

At 30-years-of-age, Ledley is heading into the second half of his career, but could certainly continue to do a job in the Championship for a few more years.

All that remains to be seen now is whether the player and club can come to an agreement.
