A video has emerged on Twitter of Sheffield Wednesday boss Carlos Carvalhal screwing up a £20 note in his attempt to prove that, although it has taken a battering, its value remains the same.

His actions come in the wake of the Owls' 4-2 derby day defeat to fierce rivals Sheffield United, in which his side were completely outclassed by the visiting Blades.

Wednesday travel to Birmingham City tomorrow evening looking to bounce back from the devastating defeat, and Carvalhal will hope that his side can reverse their fortunes against Lee Carsley’s men, who will go into the game with confidence having picked up an away point at Derby County.

Carvalhal’s outburst will undoubtedly amuse fans, and to be fair to the manager, it is not the worst comparison, with the video available here, thanks to Chris Holt on Twitter:

The Verdict

Wednesday were shell-shocked by the Blades on Sunday, and fans across the city will undoubtedly have been ridiculed to death since the heavy defeat.

Carvalhal knows that he will have come under a little pressure following the loss, and his angry outburst towards a journalist may be an indication of his tetchiness ahead of tomorrow’s massive clash with the Blues.

A win for the Owls would put them back on track, and Carvalhal is right, one defeat does not determine Wednesday to be a bad side.

It will be a tough trip to St Andrews, but one they can definitely emerge from with a positive result.

Wednesday fans, what do you make of Carvalhal's analogy?
