Queens Park Rangers sprang a surprise on the opening weekend of the Championship season, beating last season's beaten play-off finalists Reading 2-0 at Loftus Road on Saturday afternoon.

A goal in each half for Northern Ireland international Conor Washington, the second of which was a penalty awarded after Pavel Wszolek, who set up the first goal, was felled in the six yard box by Tiago Ilori, giving referee Scott Duncan little choice but to show the Portuguese defender the red card for a professional foul.

After that, the result, secured by a high-tempo gameplan from Holloway, was never in doubt, with Rangers belying a lack of summer investment with a hugely impressive display that their fans will hope to set the tone for the season.

QPR fans seemed split in their reaction to the result - some were happy to praise Holloway for getting his tactics right and seem convinced he is the right man for the job.

However, there are others who feel like it is more likely to be a flash in the pan, and will judge Holloway over a longer period of time, including his poor spell in charge during last season.

QPR fans - what did you make of yesterday's game? Can it set the tone for a positive season or do you expect to regress to the mean as the season goes on?
