‘We will be pushing for top 6 next’ – Nottingham Forest fans delighted with managerial appointment

Nottingham Forest have confirmed the appointment of Mark Warburton as the club’s new manager on a two-and-a-half year contract, reports the club’s official website.

Warburton replaces Gary Brazil has first-team manager ahead of Saturday’s clash with Derby County- the latter had been temporarily in-charge following Philippe Montanier’s dismissal in January.

Formerly manager of Brentford, Warburton recently left Scottish Premier League side Rangers last month in bizarre circumstances.

The 54-year old is tasked with guiding Forest to safety, as relegation fears grow at the City Ground.

Forest are currently 19th in the Sky Bet Championship, and have slipped to just two-points above the relegation zone, following back-to-back defeats against Brentford and Burton Albion, and face a battle for survival with just nine fixtures of the season remaining.

Saturday’s clash with Derby will see Warburton face another new Championship manager, Gary Rowett, who this morning was appointed as the Rams’ manager.
