‘We were lucky to get rid’ – Many Sheffield Wednesday fans react in Lucas Joao debate

Many Sheffield Wednesday fans have reacted to a debate involving a question about former forward Lucas Joao.
The Portuguese striker enjoyed four years at Hillsborough from 2015 to 2019, making over 100 appearances for the Owls, scoring 26 goals.
Joao now plied his trade at Championship rivals Reading after joining the club back in August of last year, though has found life hard at the Madejski having struggled with injury.
Like many players at the moment, Joao took to Instagram to conduct a fan Q&A and when asked if he’d make a return to Sheffield Wednesday, Joao responded rather allusively, saying ‘never know’ – not completely ruling out a move back to Hillsborough.
So, we put it to Sheffield Wednesday fans in the Sheffield Wednesday Fanzone Group on Facebook, and asked if they would welcome a return Joao back to the club in the future?
Here’s how many responded, and it’s fair to say it was a pretty unanimous verdict….
Tracy Bower: Absolutely not
Alex Staley: A striker that rarely scored, yeah why not, let’s add him to the bench with the others
Andrew Wright: Might as well give Jordan Rhodes a new 4 year deal
James Bagshaw: No.
Cluckie Spooner: No way
Has Fernando Forestieri done these 11 things at Sheffield Wednesday? Have a go now!
Des Sancho: If he was on a free and low wages then yes otherwise definite no.
Lewis Pickering: Yeah better then nuhiu
John Cooling: No No No
Alan Mayfield: we were lucky to get rid
Russell Walch: No, lazy and not interested unless the ball is at his feet, we need to stop going back and go forward at this club….⚪️🔵
