‘We score when we want’ – Plenty of Shrewsbury Town fans react to FA Cup result as Liverpool await

Shrewsbury Town beat Bristol City on Tuesday evening in the FA Cup to setup a fourth round tie with Premier League leaders Liverpool.
After a 0-0 draw in the first game between the two sides, Bristol traveled to Shrewsbury to take on Sam Ricketts’ side as favourites given their high Championship league standings.
The home side knew that if they could produce a performance then they would setup a dream tie with world champions Liverpool and the game did not find a winner until the dying moments.
A fairly even encounter, Shrewsbury looked more clinical, having six of their 11 shots on target, whilst the visitors struggled with Jamie Paterson failing to get involved.
Despite a number of attempts on goal for both sides, the score remained 0-0 right up until the 89th minute – when Aaron Pierre took the ball down 25 yards from goal and hammered his effort in to the bottom corner.
The home side burst in to raptures at the final whistle and they will now prepare to face Jurgen Klopp’s Liverpool in the next round.
Following the game, the Shropshire based club tweeted the final score and countless fans responded in celebration to Pierre’s winner.
That’s the hard part done! 😅
