Leeds United will step up there pre-season preparations this week as they gear up for their first friendly against Forest Green Rovers on Tuesday.

New boss Marcelo Bielsa took over last month and has been pushing the players hard ahead of the new season, if defender Luke Ayling's tweet is anything to go by.

The right-back is a popular figure at Elland Road and has established himself as one of the key men in the team, but missed virtually all of 2018 after suffering an ankle injury on New Year's Day against Nottingham Forest.

However, he fought to get back before the end of the season and played in the final-day win over QPR.

Therefore, the injury hasn't impacted his pre-season preparations and Ayling will hope to build his match fitness up in the coming weeks ahead of the first game against Stoke on August 5.
