Bristol City suffered a setback in their play-off bid over the weekend as they slipped to a 3-0 defeat against Championship leaders West Brom at Ashton Gate.

Callum Robinson opened the scoring for Slaven Bilic's side before Hal Robson-Kanu netted a brace which condemned the Robins to their second successive defeat following their 1-0 loss to second-placed Leeds the previous weekend.

The result means City remain at seventh spot in the Championship table, but they are now sitting three points adrift of sixth-placed Preston following the Deepdale outfit's 2-1 victory over Hull on Saturday afternoon.

The Robins now have 12 league games left to try and launch a play-off surge, but Lee Johnson's side appear to be lacking momentum at present after losing three of their last four matches following a four-game winning run earlier this year.

One City supporter has now taken to the Bristol City BS3 Facebook group to ask who will replace Johnson when he leaves the club, with the City boss likely to see his position come under pressure if his side fails to reach the play-offs this campaign.

Plenty of Robins fans responded to this question by putting forward possible names such as Neil Warnock or Chris Hughton, while it was also suggested that a more experienced coach could be brought in to work alongside Johnson.

Here are some of the responses...

Jam Brynt: Just putting it forward - how about an experienced coach to work alongside him to help him learn what's needed if he's not going to be sacked?

Adrian Shallis: Warnock. He would get the best out of our squad. Controversial I know! But he said going back that he would take the job.

Neil Skuse: LJ has done a cracking job and stabilised this club, but the Lansdowns need to bring a manager in with the experience to take this football club to the next level. LJ isn't that man.

Lee Rendall: Hughton has experience, Johnson lacks this.

Paul Morris: No one. He will still be there if we were a Sunday league side 😪

Angela Purnell Murphy: Chris Hughton.

Robin Fynn: Can't imagine him taking advise from anyone, but we need to find our identity.

John Hesketh: Yawn. Why would you sack a manager who improves the position every season?
