Football League World's Derby County fan pundit Lisa Howard has given her thoughts on the Rams' 2-1 loss to Bristol City at Pride Park on Tuesday night.

Phillip Cocu's side failed to pick-up a second win of the season against a stubborn Robins side and Howard is eager to see the Dutchman learn from his side's mistakes.

"It was very frustrating when you look at the stats," the regular punter told Football League World.

"We had more possession, more shots, more corners but were unable to break down their defence.

"Teams will come and park the bus as Bristol did in the second half, we need to find a way to break these teams down."

Lee Johnson's side took the lead just 16 minutes into the clash with Weimann scoring against his former club before Josh Brownhill doubled the advantage just before half-time.

Jack Marriott pulled one back late on, replacing Mason Bennett towards the end of the second-half, but City never looked like relinquishing the three points with Han-Noah Massengo the star in his first start for the club.

But it was the former Peterborough United man, Marriott, who was a shining light for Howard on an otherwise disappointing night.

"Marriott came on and really changed the game," she said.

"He scored a fantastic goal and really worries defenders when he plays and this can only help his fitness so that he can start games - which us fans are crying out for."
