Samba Sow was unavailable for Nottingham Forest at the weekend, as the Reds defeated Huddersfield Town by three goals to one at the City Ground.

Sabri Lamouchi's side moved up to fourth in the Sky Bet Championship table, after goals from Lewis Grabban and Ryan Yates helped them ease past the struggling Terriers.

Despite saying that the midfielder would be available for Sunday's clash, Lamouchi was without Sow at the weekend, admitting that it was his "choice" to leave him out of the side.

As per Nottinghamshire Live, Lamouchi said: "Samba Sow was in the group with us. “It was my choice, because some other players are more ready than him.

“But he is available. Probably, with the game in three days, Samba Sow (could play), but also the others - Alfa Semedo - I need everyone."

There can be no denying just how big of an impact Sow has made at Forest since arriving from Dynamo Moscow in the summer.

The combative midfielder is yet to lose a game whilst wearing a Garibaldi shirt, but he has encountered problems with his knee since joining the Nottinghamshire club.

Sow has missed around three months of action over the course of the season, and will be hoping to return to the side as soon as possible to help Forest win promotion.

Plenty of Forest fans have been voicing their concern surrounding Sow's injury on social media, with some even urging Lamouchi to bring in a player to replace him should his injuries worsen next season.
