West Bromwich Albion returned to the top of the Championship table last night with a dramatic 1-0 win over promotion rivals Preston North End at Deepdale - thanks to a 90th-minute penalty from Charlie Austin.

After losing in the play-offs last season, the Baggies have made an excellent start to their new campaign under Slaven Bilic and are starting to build some serious momentum - they're now unbeaten in their last nine matches and have won their last five.

They're also the top scorers in the division with 36 goals, but some fans still feel that Bilic needs to strengthen his attacking options in the January transfer window, in order to give Albion the best possible chance of returning to the Premier League.

Austin scored this third goal in three games last night, but the striker has struggled to make the impact that many West Brom fans were hoping for when he joined the club from Southampton on transfer deadline day.

Meanwhile, Hal Robson-Kanu has established himself as the Baggies' first-choice striker in recent weeks and has five goals in his last eight appearances.

Zenneth Zohroe - who joined the club from Cardiff City in the summer - has scored two league goals this season, although both of them have come from the penalty spot.

A West Brom supporter posted on Facebook during the game against Preston last night: "Need a decent striker."

Plenty of Baggies fans were quick to comment on the post - both during the game and after the match had finished - to give their thoughts. Here is a look at some of the best responses from Albion supporters...

Lee Cross: We need to have a shot more like and not try to walk it into the net! This was always going to be a difficult game but our midfield isn't winning much at the moment and not passing it about.

Dan Smith: As much as it pains me to say it, we need a duo like Jimenez and Jota. Them boys are on fire.

Callum Hayward: They just need service but Robson-Kanu has 5 goals in 8 games and Austin has 3 in 3 so.

John Worton: A win is a win. Lets move on. A.T.I.D. Boing Boing.

Allan Maull: PNE were unbeaten at home. A win is a win. Boing Boing.

Philip Clarke: Agreed! Gayle.

Brian Crawford: We keep winning what more do you want, top of the league??? Moan moan moan. Boing Boing the Baggies.

John Hunt: Gayle for me... add a few more goals and we are golden baby.

Kevin Brooks: Gayle for me. He will score, turning draws into wins. Don't forget the bad run yet, it will come take it from me, that's when you need Gayle to keep the pressure on the squad and keep the goals going in.

Jacqueline Ward: Buy Gayle back before Forest get in!!
