Sunderland will look to progress into the third round of the FA Cup tonight when they host fellow League One side Walsall in a replay at the Stadium of Light.

The two sides drew 1-1 in the West Midlands at the start of December as an Andy Cook goal cancelled out Aiden McGeady's opener.

And, with the league the priority for the Black Cats this season, manager Jack Ross has decided to make five changes for tonight's game.

Adam Matthews, Reece James, Lynden Gooch, McGeady and Josh Maja drop out, with Luke O'Nien, Bryan Oviedo, Dylan McGeouch, Duncan Watmore and Jerome Sinclair coming into the XI.

That has left some wondering about the way the side will set up, with no natural right-back on the pitch, although a midfielder could fill in.

Alternatively, a back three could be utilised by Ross as the side look to book a tie against Bolton.

The notable inclusion is that of Watmore, with the hardworking forward making his way back after several years of injury setbacks.

Elsewhere, Lee Cattermole is fit enough for the bench having not featured since October.
