Preston North End
‘We got an absolute steal’, ‘Chuffed’ – Many Preston fans react to player agreement with Premier League club

Preston North End capped off an impressive January window with the late addition of highly-rated Everton attacker Anthony Gordon on loan.
Gordon was part of a trip Deadline Day swoop, which included the signings of Liam Lindsay from Stoke and Sepp van den Berg from Liverpool – both loan deals.
The Teenager has struggled for first-team opportunities under Carlo Ancelotti this term, featuring just seven times in all competitions, including one Premier League start.
Gordon impressed in the early rounds of the Carabao Cup against both Salford and Fleetwood and started the FA Cup third-round victory over Rotherham United last month.
Quiz: Who has done more of these 15 things out of Blackburn Rovers and Preston North End?
But the attacker’s only minutes in the Premier League came in the Boxing Day victory at Sheffield United, and has therefore decided to move to Deepdale for the remainder of the campaign.
Preston have scored just once in their previous five Championship matches, meaning Gordon will be hoping to provide the spark in a currently blunt frontline as Alex Neil’s team bid to climb the table in order to prevent their campaign from fizzling into a mid-table finish.
Here’s how the Preston fans on Twitter reacted to Gordon’s addition:
We got an absolute steal getting Gordon by the sounds of it. #pnefc
