Leeds United’s pre-season is well underway, with Marcelo Bielsa putting his new squad through their paces ahead of the 2018/19 Sky Bet Championship campaign.

Bielsa has been bullish so far at Leeds, dividing Leeds’ squad into a number of groups, with many looking like they are facing the axe under the Argentine.

Pre-season will offer Leeds’ players a chance to impress their new head-coach, with some, who weren’t convincing last season, sure to be looking to make an impact ahead of the new season.

Bielsa will be getting to know his squad better and better, with certain players he has on board sure to be already impressing him.

However, over the course of a long pre-season, some will surprise Leeds’ new head-coach and play their way into first-team contention.

With that in mind, we take a look at THREE players we are expecting Bielsa to be impressed by over the course of pre-season…

Many are expecting Klich to be axed this summer, however, there’s a chance he could work his way back into Bielsa’s plans.

Of course, the 28-year-old struggled last season, but Leeds’ style is likely to change, with Bielsa sure to bring a possession-based style.

That will suit Klich, who has real quality on the ball.

It will be hard for the midfielder to work his way back into Bielsa’s plans, but he could be a dark horse to do so over pre-season.

De Bock made a terrible start to life at Elland Road, but it is well worth remembering how tough the Championship can be to adapt to.

The left-back does have quality and after a full pre-season, he could finally have settled at his new club.

Leeds’ supporters might’ve been too quick to judge the left-back.

Shaughnessy isn’t really an outcast, but he missed a large part of last season through injury.

However, Bielsa will be impressed by the youngster’s quality on the ball and versatility within a number of systems.

Shaughnessy can play in midfield or defence, which could be crucial to how Bielsa wants to play.

Bielsa could transform him into an excellent player.
