If only the Blades could have found that consistency, if only they hadn't blinked over the last couple of matches and missed the boat.

On the back of last season's League One win they've almost stormed into the Championship play-off race.

The fine win against Middlesbrough last night showed exactly what they're capable of. The defeat against Barnsley at the weekend also highlighted the frailties which will keep them outside the top six. Just.

Chris Wilder is a canny manager, that is for sure. He isn't working on a shoestring, but he has held his own against teams such as Boro and Fulham who have spent much more than he has. Bramall Lane has become a fortress, but with an average attendance of well over 26,000 that is perhaps to be expected.

Sheffield is a city that should be hosting top flight football in at least one of its fine grounds, if not both. It's been off the radar now for some time, but there's a feeling in the red half of the steel city that maybe the order may be changing.

Not everyone will be along for the ride though, here at FLW we've identified three players who won't be at the club at the start of July.

Donaldson has been around the block a few times, but it looks as though his time might be up.

The 32-year old's contract runs out this season and despite the club having an option on a further year, it looks unlikely. He's only started eight league games as his Blades days begin to look numbered.

Jake Wright followed Wilder from Oxford to Bramall Lane, but his contract is also up in the summer and if appearances are anything to go by, he'll be on his way.

The 32-year old has played most of his football outside the top two divisions and I highly suspect he'll be forced to look there in order to continue his playing days.

Evans isn't out of contract, but he isn't getting in the side either and that might be enough to see him move on.

He's a controversial figure as we all know and his move back to Bramall Lane hasn't really been the success the club will have hoped.
