Birmingham may have lost to Bristol City last night but with all the sides around them also failing to pick up any points, they lost no ground in their survival bid.

Garry Monk’s men went to Ashton Gate in good form and put in a decent performance but ultimately lost 3-1.

It doesn’t get any easier for Blues, with a trip to local rivals and leaders Wolves at Molineux up next, which could be the game that secures the hosts promotion to the top-flight.

Yet, Monk will hope that his side can maintain their recent performances between now and May to ensure they preserve their Championship status.

If they do, the signs are promising under Monk, who will surely set about making major changes at the club in order to get them competing near the top.

Here we look at three players that will move on no matter what happens…

The defender joined in the summer for a big fee and had a lot of expectancy around him, but it hasn’t worked at all.

He was poor under Steve Cotterill and Monk is clearly not a fan of the player given he has barely used him since taking over.

Therefore, a move would suit both Blues and the player and should be sorted very quickly.

Another who has struggled for game time under Monk is midfielder Jason Lowe and with the player out of contract in the summer then it’s hard to see him staying.

Monk will want to bring in his own players to suit his own style and it’s hard to see how Lowe will get an extended deal if he can’t feature now.

Even though he’s not a regular starter, N’Doye has featured more regularly under Monk than the other two players.

However, it’s a case of needs must at the minute for the former Leeds boss.

Next year, he will want to implement his own style and bringing in midfielders who are technically sound will be a priority – the Senegal international isn’t.

That lack of ability on the ball, combined with a big wage means Blues will surely look to move him on as soon as possible.
