Swansea are preparing for life back in the Championship after a seven year absence.

Carlos Carvalhal left the club not long after the season ended due to a disappointing spell which ended with five straight defeats to condemn them to the drop.

They are set to appoint Graham Potter based on reports, which will be an interesting move after his success in Sweden with Ostersunds FK. He was able to win the Swedish Cup with them and participated in the Europa League, but Arsenal proved to be too much in the Round of 32.

They will be aiming to go straight back up as well as reconnect with the methods which brought them such success in the first place, but they have been a chaotic club in recent seasons.

Here are two players that they are likely to sign this summer:

Ward spent the season with Liverpool, but only played one senior game. It was a disappointing season for him considering Loris Karius and Simon Mignolet weren't exactly impressing ahead of him in the pecking order.

A loan move to Swansea would be a good way for him to get consistent playing time and continue his development after a year where it stalled. It also solves a key need for the Swans in the short-term without costing a lot because Lukas Fabianski could be leaving this summer. Ward proved himself with Huddersfield, so he would be an ideal option to have at this level.

Sema has been at Ostersunds for the past two years as the wide midfielder on either side, although he has played a large amount of positions throughout the team. Potter could opt to bring some players with him with Sema being the most likely.

His versatility means that he would be the ideal transfer signing because of how he would be able to fill a number of key roles. Potter's connection with him also avoids the usual uncertainty with transfers because he knows the player well, so he understands the manager's methods and should settle in quickly.
