It’s going to be another year of Sky Bet Championship football for Aston Villa, who failed to secure promotion back to the Premier League last season.

Villa were 90 minutes away from promotion, with Steve Bruce’s side suffering a 1-0 defeat to Fulham in the Championship’s play-off final.

That defeat has left Villa in turmoil, with the club’s financial troubles now public knowledge and so much uncertainty surrounding a number of things ahead of the summer.

It looks like Villa’s squad will have a completely different look to it next season, with Bruce, if he remains in charge, facing a summer of negotiations.

Villa’s work in the transfer window is going to have to be shrewd, as a number of quality players, who carried Villa for large parts of last season, aren’t going to be around.

With that in mind, we take a look at some of the deals we are expecting Villa to complete this month…

Villa need a goalkeeper ahead of next season, with it extremely unlikely that Sam Johnstone will be returning.

Pantilimon spent last season on-loan with Nottingham Forest, and is reportedly on Villa’s radar this summer.

Bruce should be looking to seal a loan deal for the goalkeeper.

Tuanzebe spent time last season on-loan with Villa, but saw his spell at Villa Park hindered by injury.

The versatile defender could well be available again, and if he is, Villa should swoop.

Fully fit, Tuanzebe could be a great addition.

Agbonlahor is set to leave Villa this summer, ending his long association with the club.

However, with Villa in all kinds of financial difficulty, they could turn to the forward to help them out.

Agbonlahor has hardly featured in the last 12 months, but Villa might have little option but to try and extend his contract.
