Sheffield Wednesday correspondent Dom Howson wrote a piece on Barry Bannan's exclusion from the Scotland set up recently, and it's brought Sheffield Wednesday fans out in their droves to comment.

Bannan is very much the jewel in the Owls' crown this season, putting in some wonderful performances in the centre of the park as they defy the critics to rise to a play off spot in the table.

He's seen as one of their key players, but on the international scene he continues to be ignored, despite Scotland losing five of their last six games against the likes of Peru and Israel.

Howson feels it is baffling and inexplicable that Bannan is continually ignored, but the Owls fans who have been on Twitter are not bothered one bit.

They would much rather their prize possession spent his international breaks in Sheffield with his feet up relaxing, rather than risking injury.

A rogue Sheffield United fan has also chimed in, stating Bannan wouldn't get in the Blades midfield. It all makes for healthy debate, the best of which you'll find below.
