Plenty of Charlton Athletic fans have reacted to a statement from owner Roland Duchatelet on social media.

In a message to supporters on the club website, the Charlton owner congratulated the team on their play-off win at Wembley and explained how he is still actively trying to sell the club.

Duchatelet also touched on the future of manager Lee Bowyer, who is currently in contract talks with the club, after guiding the team to promotion to the Championship in his first full season as a manager.

Bowyer started the season as caretaker manager, but was then given the job on a permanent basis until the end of the campaign.

Duchatelet revealed that talks with Bowyer over a new and improved deal are scheduled to take place next week and reiterated that both the club and their manager are hoping that he will still be in charge at The Valley next season.

Charlton finished third in the League One table last season and beat Sunderland 2-1 in the play-off final at Wembley, with an injury-time winner from Patrick Bauer.
