Ipswich Town must have thought they'd won their first East Anglian derby since 2009 when Luke Chambers headed home in the 89th minute of Sunday's clash with bitter rivals Norwich City at Carrow Road.

The goal sparked pandemonium on the Town bench as well, with Mick McCarthy's celebration drawing particular attention.

He burst off the bench and shouted expletives, seemingly in the direction of the travelling Ipswich fans.

Obviously the rift between the former Sunderland boss and the club's fans has been long-running and well-documented but this was a bizarre new twist - even in the heat of the moment, he looked to be making a pointed message.

McCarthy has moved to issue an apology for his language and has also sought to clarify that he wasn't aiming it at anywhere or anyone in particular.

Ipswich fans are not necessarily buying it and we have taken a closer look at the best of the reaction...
