Bristol City are in the hunt for a play-off spot as the team continues to improve under Lee Johnson.

The Robins are in eight place with three points separating them from Millwall in sixth.

They still have Middlesbrough and Sheffield United to play, who are either side of them in the league table.

They have had some memorable performances this season with the victory over Manchester United in the Carabao Cup quarter-finals being the highlight, but they have their work cut if they want to finish in the play-offs.

Regardless of where they finish, Johnson can improve the squad, so here are three players who could join in the summer...

Grant is second-choice goalkeeper at a club that is likely to get relegated, so there's a good chance that he will move in the summer. He showed his quality last season with Stoke City when he stepped in for the injured Jack Butland.

He would be a better alternative than Frank Fielding even if he is five years his senior, and he could be used as an experienced back-up if Johnson isn't convinced enough for him to be first-choice. He may be old for a footballer, but goalkeepers have a higher longevity.

The Bristol City squad is relatively young so he would add some much-needed experience at this level which is key when challenging for the play-offs due to the constant need for results in a gruelling schedule.

Reed has played well on loan at Norwich City, from Southampton, in the Championship this season. He suits the profile of Bristol City because of his tactical flexibility which means he could fit into the pressing system that the Robins like to employ.

Daniel Farke has employed Reed in a variety of positions in different systems, and Johnson is the kind of manager that could utilise him in a similar way.

It's unlikely that Southampton would be willing to sell him permanently in the summer, but he could still be useful on loan by giving Johnson an added rotation option in central midfield which is important in such a long season.

Hudson-Odoi has shown his ability with the Chelsea academy sides as well as the England Under-17s, and this led to him being rewarded by Antonio Conte with four appearances in the Chelsea first-team this season.

The next stage of his career at Chelsea will be for him to go on loan, and the Championship is a popular destination. Johnson worked well with Tammy Abraham who is a fellow Chelsea loanee, so it would be a good move for him to do the same.

He could be a difference-maker in the final third creatively, which Bristol City lack currently. His dribbling ability, vision and decision-making make a deadly combination for such a young player and he could propel the Robins to new heights next season especially under the guidance of Johnson.
