‘We are not messing about’ – Many QPR fans buzzing after latest transfer update

QPR are reportedly keen on signing Fortuna Sittard left-back George Cox, which has drawn an excited reaction from fans of the west London club.

The R’s have made a positive start to the summer already, having signed Charlie Austin, Sam Field, and Jordy de Wijs after their impressive loan spells at the club as well as landing Ipswich Town’s Andre Dozzell.

It seems Mark Warburton and Les Ferdinand are not done yet, however, as West London Sport has reported that the Hoops are hoping to complete the signing of Cox.

The QPR boss is understood to be keen to reinforce his options at both full-back positions with Moses Odubajo looking likely to replace Todd Kane, who the club are looking to offload.

Cox is the player they’re hoping to add on the left-hand side after he’s turned heads with his performances over the past two years in the Eredivisie.

The 23-year-old joined Fortuna Sittard from Brighton last summer after impressing on loan during the 2019/20 campaign but it is his exploits over the past 12 months that have likely got the R’s interested.

The defender was a constant nuisance down the left flank for the Dutch club, finishing the season with five goals and five assists.

One question about every player in the R’s’ first-team – Can you score 100% on this?
