Football League World’s Birmingham City fan pundit Jack Blenkiron is hoping that past experience will work in his side’s favour when they face Nottingham Forest at the City Ground on Saturday.
The Blues have experienced a strong start under Pep Clotet this season and will be looking to continue that against Sabri Lamouchi’s side.
“The City Ground has been somewhat of a ‘limbs’ provider for us in recent years,” the regular punter told Football League World.
“You only have to look at Juke’s looping header last season in front of fans flying down the stairs.
“Forest have had a tough start, opening against two strong teams, and it will be intriguing to see how we do against them after our strong start to the season.”
The Blues have lost to Forest just once in the past four years and go into this one in the better shape as well.
On the opening weekend they beat a much-fancied Brentford side 1-0 at Griffin Park before picking up a useful point against another promotion candidate – Bristol City.
But what should we be looking out for from the West Midland’s side this weekend?
“Fran Villalba’s debut against Bristol City on Saturday was one that will struggle to be topped,” Blenkiron said.
“The young magician unlocked a sturdy defence countlessly and is a joy to watch when on the ball, he is definitely one to keep an eye out for.
“In terms of team selections, if we name the same eleven that played against Bristol, we are in with a chance.
“Seddon may reappear on the team sheet after he was rested, whereas Crowley and Villalba are most likely to retain their spots due to the injuries to Maghoma and Mrabti.”
