Sheffield Wednesday extended their winless run to three matches in the Championship following their 1-1 draw with relegation strugglers Barnsley on Saturday afternoon.

The Owls would have been hoping to boost their play-off ambitions with a victory over the Tykes at Oakwell, and they would have felt confident of achieving this when Josh Windass gave Garry Monk's side the lead in the 16th minute.

However, Wednesday were then quickly pegged back when Cauley Woodrow levelled the scores just eight minutes later, and Monk's men could not find another breakthrough as the game eventually resulted in a draw.

The result means Wednesday were not able to reverse their gradual slide down the Championship table which has seen them collect five points from their last eight, and their promotion hopes have now been cast into serious doubt as a result.
