Blackpool have confirmed the capture Rangers goalkeeper Jak Alnwick on a season-long loan deal.

The 26-year-old has completed his temporary switch to Bloomfield Road after spending last season on loan at Scunthorpe United, and he has become Blackpool's seventh signing of the summer.

Alnwick made 41 appearances for The Iron in League One last term, but he couldn't prevent the club from being relegated as they slumped to a 23rd-placed finish.

This makes his latest switch the second loan move he has undertaken since joining Rangers in 2017, which means he has only made 11 senior appearances for the Scottish giants since his arrival.

Alnwick will now provide valuable goalkeeping reinforcement for Simon Grayson's side as they are currently without last season's first-choice stopper Mark Howard, who is injured.

Blackpool confirmed Alnwick's arrival in an announcement made via their Twitter account on Tuesday evening:

Plenty of Blackpool supporters responded to the tweet confirming the club's latest addition, with many of them welcoming Alnwick and also praising the club's latest transfer move.
