Jack Clarke is reportedly close to joining QPR on loan for the rest of the season and would be in line to make his debut against former club Leeds United at the weekend.

Clarke broke through into Leeds United’s first-team in Marcelo Bielsa’s first season in charge and made his debut against Brentford in October 2018, showing his talent from the moment he stepped onto the pitch.

A series of impactful substitute appearances then saw him catch the eye of Tottenham Hotspur, sealing a summer move before immediately being loaned back to Elland Road for the season, or at least with the intention of staying for the season.

Clarke was one of six players who the Whites had on-loan going into the start of the season and with the league regulations permitting just five loan players in any given matchday squad, meaning Clarke often missed out.

Having made just one league appearance, coming off the bench against Luton Town, Clarke’s loan was terminated by Spurs with the view to sending him on-loan elsewhere to get more regular minutes on the pitch.

The Athletic have now reported that he is set to join QPR for the rest of the season and would be in line to make his debut on Saturday when they face Leeds at Loftus Road.
