Bristol City host Aston Villa this weekend looking to get back to winning ways.

Lee Johnson’s men have lost their last two games in a row after a good run of form and will be looking to arrest their mini-slump ahead the visit of Aston Villa to Ashton Gate.

After two consecutive reverses on the road, it will be a welcome return to their own patch to take on a Villa side on a below-par run of form at present.

Bristol City are currently eighth in the Championship table and Johnson could look to shuffle his pack after the back-to-back defeats during the week.

Without a cup tie to contend with, it gives the club a week to prepare for this fixture and to try to get the two losses out of their system as they look to claim all three points.

With that said, here are two changes Johnson should make to his Bristol City line-up to face Aston Villa this weekend.

After the defeat to West Bromwich Albion, Marley Watkins had to make do with a role from the bench, before coming on in the defeat against Wigan last weekend.

Lee Johnson might have thought it would have had a positive effect on his side but it did not.

So, therefore, the influential midfield man should be restored to the starting line up, having been a part of their four-game unbeaten run after in the season.

Matty Taylor was dropped in favour of Famara Diedhiou in the Wigan defeat but to no avail.

Despite scoring one goal less than his striker team-mate, he has one assist and therefore could have a better influence on the game as well as being able to score.

The way he plays is more conducive for a better team performance so he should be restored to the starting XI after his one-game exile to the substitutes' bench.
