A number of Premier League sides are being linked with a move for winger Gael Kakuta ahead of the summer transfer window, and Championship side Watford are also in the hunt.

The Hornets are heading back to the Premier League at the first time of asking after achieving automatic promotion in the Championship this season and they'll be looking to add to their squad this summer with a view to remaining in the top-flight and re-establishing themselves there for the seasons to come.

It remains to be seen who actually arrives, then, but according to The Daily Mail winger Gael Kakuta is of interest to the Hornets.

They, along with Premier League sides Newcastle United and Crystal Palace are linked, with the winger currently based in France.

The Verdict

Kakuta has been on these shores before when Chelsea signed him as a youngster, something that sparked a transfer ban for the Blues before it was overturned.

He has, more recently, been playing on loan at RC Lens from Amiens this season in France with him scoring 11 goals and he is apparently valued at £8.5m by the French side.

We'll have to see, then, whether Watford are going get him or whether another English side will.
